Biscuits

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 6 tbsp cold butter
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped chives optional
  • 2 cups flower

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl and mix well. Set aside.
  • Cut the butter up in small cubes. Add the butter, chives, and work in the butter just until the mixture is crumbly, with some larger chunks of butter remaining.
  • Pour in the milk and mix with a wooden spoon until just combined. The dough should be sticky.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface, and fold it over on itself 5-6 times.
  • Use your hands to flatten the dough to 1" thick and lightly dust a 2 ¾" round biscuit cutter with flour. Flatten out the dough into a 1 inch round and use a circle cutter/ cup to press into the dough. (Do not twist the cutter and push all the way down). Reuse the scrap dough and continue cutting.
  • Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the melted butter and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
  • Bake the biscuits for 20-25 minutes, or until they're light golden brown.
    Remove them from the oven and set aside to cool.
